Berghaus Plaza Amsterdam

Where old meets new

A new beginning for Berghaus. In 1882, the famous Berghaus Fashion Atelier was established in the center of Amsterdam; what is now known as the Amsterdam Fashion District. This area has traditionally been a busy business district, full of fashion merchants, traders and factories.

The ambition of the recent redevelopment is simple; to build on the success of the past and usher in a new era of growth. Berghaus adds new energy and vibrancy to this constantly developing area.

A unique destination that brings to life the Work, Play, Live concept around which Berghaus was designed. The mix of amenities and facilities form the basis for a vibrant 24/7 community.

Elegant roundings

The design by HEYLIGERS architects and MVSA Architects includes two transparent new residential towers on top of existing office buildings. The redevelopment follows the shape and detailing of the original design, combining old and new to create a light and spacious building with the character that inspired the original design.

The new Berghaus Plaza is characterized by elegantly rounded corners which enhances the luxurious atmosphere. Commissioned by Blitta Gevelystemen, Kersten provided the curved aluminium profiles for these curves. The scope included bending and mechanical machining of curtain wall and frame profiles.
